Have I missed something here?

Tom tries to contact someone who at least knows the sport *exists* and tries
to make them change the way they think about our little hobby, ie helping a
journalist to get to know the sport - which you mention sometimes leads to
'half-decent articles', Max. Someone goes and wrecks it by insulting that
'hack' and somehow that's good for the sport is it? That attitude of "if you
don't understand it, you can jog on" doesn't really seem to be great for PR
considering we're a growing sport trying to get more players involved.
