If I may:
Running a tour event is a thankless task! - Indeed it may well be, however it is a very well paid task so thanks don't really come into it, organise it for GBP 50 a team and I'll thank you, make a bloody great profit on it and I'll expect professionalism.
The provision of ample pitch side water is a very very basic requirement and it would be silly to suggest that the logistical difficulties of increasing the amount available were insurmountable in the time available.
This said (and I concur that it a little fresh for me to comment on this) if teams are playing with insufficient players there is an argument for saying they ought to concede games, or even be told they can no longer participate in the event (yes I appreciate this would have meant my own teams disqualification, but it would none-the-less have been a safe option for the TD).
I do wonder whether TD's as well as attending UKUA board members have considered their potential personal liability for failing to ensure that suitable health and safety measures are observed at UKUA events, hypothetically if someone sued and the insurance failed to responded because basic steps weren't taken by responsible individuals, somebody could end up with a rather unwelcome law suite against them personally.
Oh and in one final rant, I want to say that this was by and far the worst event I've ever attended in respect of individual accountability, I've heard great things from grounds keepers across the country in respect of how we leave pitches and grounds post event, the amount of crap that littered the sidelines of our pitches at the end of each day was a travesty to the sport and each and every player that allowed it to happen, captains please marshal your teams to tidy up after themselves.

Please can something be done to ensure a situation like the one at Mansfield
last weekend doesn't happen again, a severe lack of pitch water (especially
on the farthest pitches) combined with asking teams to play several
back-to-back games is very dangerous in such hot weather. Hopefully the UKUA
can review the issue and ensure it doesn't happen again in future.
