[BD] Bright future for mixed tour...

Hi all,

Agreed MT1 was fantastic, thanks Brighton! You rock! It was an incredible success!

I do however have a question/comment/concern for future tours.

I think MT1 was great for many reasons already stated but also because the effort was made to fit in 40 teams.

Having played in the UK for 4 years now, I must say that the competition is better at all levels then I had seen before. This is fantastic news for UK ultimate. Bottom seeds are fighting it out with some pretty great ultimate and more and more teams want to be involved year after year. AMAZING! Well done UKUA!

With that said, I know of at least 2-3 teams that didn't make the cut for MT1...my concern is only 32 teams will get to play in MT2. This means up to 10 + teams (over 100 individual mixed ultimate enthusiasts) might not get the opportunity to take part.

Please take my word that I am NOT criticising. The organisers of the UKUA and tours are the ones that made UK ultimate such a success resulting in the need for more space.

I would like to encourage that in seasons to come we continue to encourage more teams- old hands, skilled rookies and fresh beginners to play ultimate in the UK.

To do this I think we may need to make an effort to accommodate them. (I don't have an answer how, but just wondering maybe someone does?) Open/Women's tour accommodated nearly 48 teams (??) is there anyway we can do that with mixed in the future. (obviously not this season...but maybe next season we encourage larger venues for mixed?) Is it possible that we do an A tour and B tour in the future? I don't know and leave it to the ones who do to decide.

Anyhow food for thought, because I just find it a shame that so many great UK ultimate mixed players won't get the chance to enjoy the fun at tour 2.

Thanks for all the hard work to everyone who makes UK ultimate happen!
