[BD] MT1 schedule - no crossovers?

Hello,

I have been writing or been involved with writing the Mixed Tour schedule
for several years. The current way in which schedules are determined is FAR
superior to the good old days* and as far as I'm concerned is pretty much
perfect**.

What is a mis-seeding anyway? Example from this year, Team A plays Team B on
Saturday and then again on Sunday on Saturday Team A wins 15-13 on Sunday
Team A wins 15-6 same teams same players vastly different scoreline. Taking
either scoreline in isolation gives you either a great seeding system
(Saturday) or a poor seeding system (Sunday)!!!! What happened to having a
good game, or a good tournament? What happened to having a 'season' with ups
and downs, where over the course of a few tournaments you work out your
level?

Honestly, if you're upset because your team finished 21st and didn;t get a
fair shot at 17th then you're playing the wrong "sport", or at least for the
wrong team. Do you get home and tell the missus, who replies in consoling
fashion, "don't worry sweetie, you'll always be 17th best to me"???

It;s great that people care enough to want to get involved in making
schedules and other aspects of the "sport" right, so if you do have the
skills and interest, I'm sure there's space on the scheduling committee for
people willing to consistently get involved. (Another, more important, way
you could contribute would be to put in a bid to host Mixed Nationals).

Jaimie

*based on how long it was going to take me to get to the venue and what
start time my team wanted ;)

** when we get it perfect you'll no longer have to travel to tournaments
'cos we'll just announce the results!
