[BD] MT1 schedule - no crossovers?

Is this not why they have more open pools at Tour 1 of Open, then close it
down to peer pools AFTER Tour 1?

BTW - do we have a definitive date for Mixed Nationals yet? I am sure others
are in the same boat as I am: needing to book a holiday and holding off til
we get a final date. The wife is none too happy, please help!

Hi Justin,

All teams have been given the chance to submit information relating to
where they are aiming to play. Mis-seedings will be objectively
approached with a view to re-seeding after Tour 1 (i.e. in the case of
a team in a lower bracket winning all games comfortably). If you feel
your team is still mis-seeded after MT1 then you should give us
feedback so we can consider adjusting the bracket you're playing in
for MT2.

Peer pools in the Mixed division are not used to limit movement but
because there tends to be limited movement. The aim is to ensure most
teams get a majority of close games, with this comes a risk of a few
teams getting few close games.  We have tried to limit this risk as
best we can, by asking for information from teams relating to seeding.
 There is still a risk, but we see this as better than the alternative
- a guarantee of several far-from-close games for many teams.

Surely there is enough light these days to play till 7 or even 8 if needed -
with 12 pitches we could easily fit in another game for up to 24 teams.

ABCD - not everyone in all those pools has to play crossovers. The idea
being the top 2 teams in the pool have proven in pool play that they are
strong for their bracket (potentially underseeded), and the bottom 2 proving
they may be weak for their bracket (potentially overseeded).
