[BD] Guts

Guts was the original competitive game played with a flying disc, and if you go back to the mid 70's there was probably as much guts played as ultimate in the UK. They were the two main team games, and there is synergy in holding the championships together. Ultimate pretty quickly became the main deal, and stands on its own feet, but Guts benefits from the piggy-back. None of the other team games were ever played by enough countries to merit a World Championships.
 
DDC is played fairly widely, but is included alongside field events like distance and "self caught flight" in Individual or "Overall" World Championships.

Does anyone know why or how Guts ever got grouped alongside Ultimate to make
WUGC?  It just seems an odd combination.

Are there players of other disc-iplines - DDC, Durango Boot and (my personal
favourite) Fricket to name but a few (more here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_disc_games) out there desperate for
their sport to be given the recognition it so rightfully deserves?

WUGDDCDBFC anyone?

Please no flames from Guts players, I'm just wondering!
