I am still trying to finalise the last missing spirit scores..

These three teams have still not responded despite several attempts
to contact them

I'll update the website when I have these.

Regarding all the BD mails on this subject, here are a few thoughts
of mine

I think Kev Lowe's system is excellent (possibly with a few tweaks),
but giving out a definition of what each score means is the main
point, so that everybody is near as possible using the same
definition of spirit.
Clearly, it's much harder to be spirited in a close game when a bad
call could make all the difference, so that deserves more recognition
in my opinion.

"The rules are only there to ensure that what would have happened
happens"
Thank you Dave, whoever said that to you was really getting to the
core of the Spirit of Ultimate.

Lastly, all these ideas about texting scores are very interesting...
but possibly over-complicating the issue. At the moment the TD's
rarely know the results of any games until the end of the weekend.
It's up to every team to have at least one person that understands
the schedule and keep track of things. This system works pretty well...

If the results were all passed back to the TD's who then worked out
who was playing who on what pitch, would they have to relay this
information back to the people who told them the results in the first
place? With 50 teams playing 6 games this would entail about 300
individually written text messages!

What would be really nice (and we have tried to figure out a way of
doing it) would be to have some kind of leader board at the HQ, but
again, the practicalities of this get pretty complicated very
quickly. I'm not saying it's impossible, just complicated.

Most players simply need to know when and where they are playing
next. On Sunday, about three people came and asked us to tell where
they were playing (we had no idea). If those people are the only ones
who all this would be helping, I think we can safely stick with the
system we have at the moment.

What I would like to see is more emphasis on the final position +
spirit score being handed in. We gave every team a sheet to hand
back. Of 54 teams, 18 handed their sheet in, about 30 came to HQ to
tell us the information (which is fine) and 8 teams just went home.

I wonder if by regularly publishing the spirit scores, awareness of
the importance of handing in these final results could be raised?
