Hi,
The address to subscribe to the new northern regional mailing list is actually:
northernultimate-subscribe at yahoogroups.com
It seems obvious to me that the NWL & NLL should be combined in some
way so there aren't two separate leagues to handle. I would take the
schedule of the NWL (a series of one-day tournaments), and combine it
with the flexibility of the NLL (so the location can move around the
region) to satisfy the most teams, with results counting towards both
leagues.
Extras, such as independent NLL events springing up unexpectedly, or a
separate NWL website / table, can only serve to benefit, not harm,
both leagues and the region as a whole.
Moving forward I'd suggest potential event organisers in the North get
working on it and claim one of the following dates for their event:
12 November
10 December
14 January
18 February
18 March
So long as they announce it as soon as they've finalised it (to
northernultimate at yahoogroups.com - subscribe!) then there shouldn't be
any conflicts. It is essential that as many potential hosts get
working on it asap though, to ensure the location changes suitably.
If there are too many event organisers then it's a great opportunity
to arrange a smaller scale Ladder League event for local team/s (this
is also great for showing hosts how easy events are).
For simple guidelines on how to host events please see the FAQs
section of http://www.regionalultimate.co.uk/
