I was looking into getting a train to Glastonbury (before I found someone in
my team with space in a car) and did some google-based research earlier this
week on the suggestion of the TD who apparently didn't have such information
to hand.
Glastonbury doesn't have a train station, the closest station is Castle
Cary, about 9 miles away which has a bus service to Street. Street, on
Multimap, seems to be about 2 cow-fields from Glastonbury, but maps can lie!
Or you can presumably get a taxi. See these sites:
http://www.totaltravel.co.uk/travel/west-country/somerset/guide/stations-taunton-somerset#Glastonbury
http://www.atob.org.uk/castlecarybuses.htm
I was also leaning towards getting a train to Taunton, which is a bit
further away but seems to have a bus service to Glastonbury. See this link:
http://www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/southwest/somerset/search/resultsindex.php?results=725349,724668,724587,724588
TD also suggested training to Briston and asking on BD for a lift from there
where presumably a lot of people will be going from. All this is off
websites and not at all based on personal experience, hope it helps though.
Good luck,
Graham
