I am personally in favour of the new eligibility rules, because they
allow the sport to move forward in terms of recognition and hopefully
   growth.

I strongly dispute that not being able to play for another insitution
automatically means that growth is adversely affected. I think this
places more emphasis on joint-teams to seperate and then push even
harder to try and attract more players to the sport, in order that
they might put together a full strength team.

Besides, University competition is about competition between
Universities. If you represent a university, you should be able to
play for them. If you don't, you shouldn't. This seems to be more of
an issue with inner-city London institutions which don't have access
to good sports facilities. Well, thankfully London has a thriving Open
scene to explore. If people want to play Ultimate, then they can start
   playing Open.

Every step towards official recognition is, in my eyes, a good one.
There will be problems and casualties along the way, but that's just
   how it happens.

   Dan
