[BD] The format of the tour is changing for next year

As a player in my first full year of tour (having only played students and a few random tournies before this year) i have no previous experience of the "integrated" season but i found that the split approach worked very well.

Ok so maybe it means the mixed tour clashes with some of the important student events (I mean exams not tournies) and it also means that a disproportionate amount of zone is played due to the weather being crappy but surely it gives teams and individual players a chance to play more ultimate without massively overloading bodies in a shorter and more intense season of just the summer months.

I believe there was a similar discussion earlier in the year which highlighted the advantages of the split season for new players, students and women (forgive me if this is inaccurate my memory isn't all that great). Are we now going to ignore this point of view?

Finally....would alternating the mixed and open/women's tour events not lead to an even more crowded and impossibly busy summer calendar for those who wish to play in both formats? Would this possibly result in players having to choose either mixed OR open/womens and therefore create a bigger negative effect on the development of the sport as a whole?

I have posed a number of questions in this email which are not intended as accusations or complaints, they are merely suggested points for discussion. They have been formed as a result of my own thoughts and do not necessarily represent the views of any of the teams I have played, or currently play for.
